Many people today use their notebook (laptop) as their main pc and rely on it for anything computer related. The notebook in this video is capable of doing some extra things apart from showing videos of itself on youtube. Enjoy the vid!
Speed is the answer… Not a faster car (as most would think), but a faster PC. Many people think ‘throw in a faster CPU, more RAM and there you have it’ but one of the bottle necks in PC speed are hard disks (due to virtual memory. if you can’t understand what I mean its ok…) The video below is about SSDs (solid state drives), a lot of them actually, in RAID, giving some spectacular results. There is only one problem, SSDs are quite expensive at the moment, very expensive, at least that’s what my bank account says… Enjoy the video…
PS. beat that Apple…
We are currently waiting for a 3D animation to render so I have time to post a blog… <sidenote>It has been a really hectic week but finally its over. We were working on the Dark Dog website and Chris (thankyou) on a 3D animation</sidenote>
During the week I found some facebook spoofs which I liked and thought I’d share on my blog. Here we go:
First up, facebook and relationships:

Greek Myhtology:

And to conclude, pensionbook:

Statistics… love them? hate them? Any way you may feel about the topic probably you’ll love this idea… So many a second is a website that depicts the ongoing stream of events… (http://smas.studioludens.com/)
This is what the thing looks like but I suggest visiting the site:

Love Statistics? Be sure to visit this site then : http://www.worldometers.info/
The image below may be familiar, but there is something really special about this one!
It has been shot at 1,474 Megapixels, basically a large set of images taken using a normal camera by a machine (hint: hit the link for more info) which does it all for you =)

Click here to see the real thing, zoom in and move around (Warning: you’ll proably waste some time here)
PS. you may notice some glitches, ex: zoom in to the lens of the camera on the left, you’ll get what I mean
I’m posting this video for 2 reasons:
- Its Computer Generated Imagery of a flight simulation - thus making it possible for us to see what we couldn’t, since no one shot a video of the accident.
- The guy’s a hero…
Hi there,
If you are a student like me who was thinking that exams could have been delayed and was concerned about all that stuff and commotion that was generated by the-two-entities-who-needn’t-be-mentioned recently, you probably know how it feels to be under pressure. One of the best ways to waste some time in these time-lapses (aka i-still-need-to-finish-assignments-and-it-is-exam-time) is to google some exam-related funny stuff and blog about it, thus making the whole situation slightly less stressful for the whole community of under-exam-pressure-time-wasting-people like me.
Below are some examples of what can happen to you if you are reading this blog and have exams in a few days time:
I need to start off with the one who made me laugh most (sorry girls):

Next some classics you have probably seen around

Some less famous ones:

For those still working on your assignments, never write assumptions, its unscientific

Good luck for your exams (you really need it if you’ve come this far),

note to myself: must stop using this-kind-of-i-don’t-know-what-they-call-it stuff/notation/whatever.
We all know about American stupidity, but this takes things to a whole new level. Enough said, just enjoy the video…
When I don’t feel like working, which by the way happens very rarely (ask matthew), I look around the web for amusing things (like Apple’s suggestion to start using an anti-virus [post coming soon]). This week I found an interesting use of charts (pie charts, bar charts, etc). Usually used for statistical analysis or to describe flow, charts are a great tool to describe data/processes visually, but some people found another good use for them.
First off, some funny ones:

Next some charts describing songs, I guess you will guess most of them:

And last but not least (video can be used for verification):

For those of you who have always thought that computer/scientific stuff cannot be cool, we can finally prove it
Nerds all around the world are now becoming cool and rapping about the things they really care about!
Note: I don’t like rap, in fact I think that it makes the whole thing a whole lot nerdier. Guess you can’t stand watching them all
Enjoy!
Some Wierd Al stuff too:
And finally your favourite, Microsoft Sam:
And just in case you never heared the song Microsoft Sam was singing:
PS. Have you noticed that youtube is now widescreen???
